All Watch Me classes are taught by Dana Scott, a certified trainer with Animal Behaviour and Training Associates (ABTA) and a professional member of CAPPDT (Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers).Dana has been training and competing in multiple venues since 1997. She is also an accomplished breeder of Labrador Retrievers under the FallRiver prefix.
Using her minor in behaviour to shape her training skills, Dana became aware of the work of Bob Bailey and how reward based training was not only kinder but more effective. She found that using reward based training not only created better motivation and reliability in her dogs, it strengthened their relationship. Soon, demand grew from dog owners who also wanted to treat their dogs in a positive and respectful manner and Dana began offering classes and seminars.
Over the years, Dana has helped countless families learn how to communicate clearly and kindly with their dogs. The results are fewer behaviour problems, closer bonds, and happy dogs!
Shehas also used reward based training to gain a variety of working titles on her dogs and the dogs who attend her classes. Through reward based training, there have been multiple HIT's and obedience titles, conformation titles, Rally titles, agility titles and hunt test titles and her students continue to excel with their dogs through kindness and understanding. Dana hasalsoworked closelywith rescues and shelters as a Temperament Tester and Behaviour Consultant, most recently with the Metro SPCA in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. In that capacity, she provided seminars and staff training on dog communication and behaviour, and directed their rehabilitationfor problem behaviours.
Dana continues to attend seminars and workshops on operant conditioning and learning theory to stay current in her training methods.
